Jamshedpur, April 6: A case has come to light where a 15 year old girl of Sidgora has complained of being sexually molested by a JAP ex-serviceman whom she called grandfather. The girl on Sunday gave a written complaint in the Sidgora police station but no action had been taken against the old man. The minor girl then met the City SP with their complaint. CWC president Pushpa Rani Tirkey stated that cognizance had been taken on the matter but since the victim had not filed an FIR, further steps had not been taken. The matter will be taken up after the FIR is filed she said.
According to the minor girl, her father had deserted the family and her mother died shortly after. Being still a kid, her maternal aunt took charge of her and brought her up. She said that her aunt’s father-in-law used to molest her. She informed her aunt about the old man’s behaviour. Her aunt reasoned with her father-in-law but the old man scolded her instead. He continued to molest the girl. Fed up, her aunt got her admitted to the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay in Sundernagar which is a residential school. After lockdown was clamped, she had to return to the house. The old man got back to his old ways and sexually started molesting her again. The people at home tried to make the old man understand but he was adamant. Finally, the girl went to the Sidgora police station and complained against her grandfather in writing but it did not yield any result.
