Jamshedpur, Jan 19: Jharkhandvasi Ekta Manch is all set to host a spectacular Tusu Mela at Bistupur Gopal Maidan on 21st January (Sunday), drawing participants from various districts of Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Orissa. The annual event, organized to uphold the cultural heritage and traditions of Jharkhand, promises an exciting day filled with festivities and competitions.

At a press conference held at Sonari Nirmal Bhawan today, Manch Convenor and MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, along with Chief Convenor Aastik Mahato, shared details about the upcoming Tusu Mela. The event, initiated in 2006 by the late former MP Sunil Mahato, has become a much-anticipated cultural extravaganza.

This year’s Tusu Mela will feature the customary competition for Tusu idols, with prizes awarded to those presenting the most impressive Chaudal to the fair. Cash prizes await participants who showcase their skills in the Budhi Gaadi dance competition, promising a shower of accolades for the talented.

The organizers have taken comprehensive measures to ensure the safety of the attendees, collaborating with local authorities and deploying additional manpower for crowd control. Protective measures will be in place, allowing participants and visitors to enjoy the fair with ease.

The grounds will come alive from 10 am onwards as participants from various regions start arriving. Alongside cash prizes, participants in different categories, including Tusu statue, Chaudal, and Budhi Gaadi dance, will receive consolation prizes.
