Graduate School College organises workshop on career opportunities

Jamshedpur, May 17: The Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) of Graduate School College for Women organised a workshop on ‘Scope of multimedia in building career’ where students from various departments were given an overview about opportunities in media from radio, audio-visual and print. About 150 students from all the department in the college participated in the workshop.

Sushmita Sen, a faculty member of Graduate School College for Women. The IQAC aims to improve the learning-teaching method in colleges.

Since colleges here have not had any major exposure, we through IQAC are trying our best to develop a regular model which can be beneficial for our students. This time we had resource person from print and electronic but we also plan to organise a session on Internet, the largest medium of communication now,” said.

“Most of the families here bank on engineering because they know that there would be a job waiting as soon as their ward passes out but what if one doesn’t like it? We try to tell them the scope and opportunities in maximum possible field so that the parents who are present don’t limit themselves,” said a speaker.

Under the National Accreditation and Assessment Council, Bangalore, IQAC is an accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement should be a continuous process, the IQAC becomes a part of the institution’s system and work towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
