Jamshedpur, Sept. 19 : A day after CM Raghubar Das flagged off a special train carrying government school children from Hatia Railway Station for an excursion to New Delhi and Agra, Congress party has lashed out at the Government for ignoring main issues concerning infrastructure and lack of manpower in the area of education.

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee secretary and senior Congress leader SRA Rizwi Chabban has said that it is a matter of great concern that most of the government schools in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district are running without the headmasters, teachers, and teaching work is being disrupted. He noted that the Governments Excursion Scheme for students is mere eye wash and nothing is going to be gained out of it.

Citing examples, he informed that in East Singhbhum alone there are 58 Rajkiyakrit high schools, 11 of which have plus two. Out of these 47 high schools have just eight full-time headmasters, the rest of the work being carried out in-charges. The appointment of the headmasters has been delayed over the years by the government and education department. He said that the Government must concentrate on to improve education scenario by filling vacant posts and also boosting infrastructure.

Chabban urged the Chief Minister Raghubar Das to soon overcome the shortage of teachers in government schools in East Singhbhum. He said that state of educations hould be improved and educational activities in the schools of the district must be brought on the track.

He also added that the colleges of Kolhan University are running sans full strength of teachers. As a result of this, the students are at the receiving end. He said that the State Government is not taking steps to improve education scenario. He added that despite having well established universities, the State sees a huge exodus, with students preferring Delhi, Mumbai and other metro cities in North and West to their own.
