Govt to increase rate of food provision at MGM Hospital says Health Minister

Jamshedpur : Jharkhand’s Health Minister Rajendra Singh has said that the Government has decided to increase the rate of the food provision to a tune of as high as Rs 100 at the MGM Medical College and Hospital.

The decision comes in view of the hospital management seeking escalation as the patients undergoing treatment in various wards of the hospital were not getting good food.

Singh, who was in city to participate in State’s Foundation Day celebration by District Administration, talking to the reporters at circuit house said that the Government will authorised the Hospital’s superintendent to implement the decision.

Sources in the hospital administration said that for the 300 plus patients who are served food thrice a day, have to get contend with the course food like rice, chapati, daal and a mixed vegetables in the lunch and dinner.

Eggs are served in the break-fast a few day every week, but sometimes it goes without an egg for weeks together. According to the new menu that has been sent to the state health department include, mutton, chicken, fish and panir beside vegetable soup.

It may be mentioned that State Government governed Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, is an Indian medical school established in 1964.

Talking to the newsmen, the Minister also assured the para medical staff at the Government hospitals will be promoted. “ I have received a file in this regard I will soon give orders to ensure that they are promoted”.

Singh said that the Government will also soon begin the process to appoint assistant professors at Government medical colleges following 50 seat hikes in several colleges.
