Govt. to promote flora and fauna at Mango, says Raghubar

Jamshedpur, July 31: The Chief Minister Raghubar Das attended the concluding function of the month-long plantation program – Mukhyamantri Jan Van Yojana (for increasing the state’s green cover) at Pardih in Mango. He planted saplings of banyan at Kumrum in Mango located at the foot-hills of Dalma on the occasion.

“I am really happy to see the overwhelming response. Trees are like the lungs of this earth. The greener is our earth the healthier we will be. The plantation program which had been launched on July 1 concluded today, but the spirit of planting trees should never be concluded,” Das said while addressing a gathering.

He noted that he want to convert Mango into a beautiful place having greenery and also flora and fauna so that the people living in this part of the city will not have to go to Jubilee Park for spending a quality time.

Praising local environment activist Thakur Hansda, the CM said that people should derive inspiration from Hansda. He said that afforestation is the easiest way to control global warming.

Discussing the background of vanmahotsava in details, PDS minister Saryu Rai said that the government wants to develop Dimna foothill area with tourism and ecological point of view. MP Bidyut Baran Mahto open heartedly praised the month-long afforestation drive initiated by the CM in the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the officials of the forest department, utility company Jusco, various school and social organizations who participated in the month-long plantation drive.

About 10 lakh saplings of various trees were planted in East Singhbhum during the month-long plantation drive.
