Jamshedpur: Kolhan University has received more than two times the number of applications for undergraduate courses this year. In such a situation, it is not possible to enroll all the applicant students. The reason for this is that this time the number of subject-wise seats in all the colleges has been fixed by the state government itself. In such a situation, the number of seats cannot be increased from the university level after the enrollment on the prescribed seats is completed. Regarding this, some student organizations are pressurizing to ensure the enrollment of all the applicants, so the university administration itself is not able to take any decision on this. Like previous years, this time the enrollment of as many students as possible cannot be taken in the colleges of the university as all the colleges have been allotted seats for each subject. Colleges have to enroll only on the allotted seats.
Even after this, some students remain deprived of admission, so for this permission will have to be taken from the university level to increase the number of seats from the government. Earlier, keeping in view the number of students, the academic council of the university used to take the decision to increase the seats.
The college and subject in which seats were required to be increased, that college used to inform the university about the need. After that, in the meeting of the Academic Council of the University, consent was given after discussing it, but this time it will not happen. Prabhat Kumar Pani, spokesperson of Kolhan University, said that colleges will have to take admission on the number of seats allotted by the government
