Ranchi, Feb. 22: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday released nine books of ‘Ho’ and ‘Santhal’ language published by the Kolhan University, in Raj Bhawan, Ranchi.
Five books are in Ol Chiki script of Santhali language and four are in Warang Kshiti script of Ho language. On the occasion Governor felicitated the writers of the books by offering them a certificate and a shawl.
In her address, Governor Mumru said, Jharkhand lies in natural bed and the language and culture of this state is extremely rich. For the protection, promotion of the languages it’s important that the Santhali language scripts are translated into Ol Chiki and Warang Kshiti script of Ho language.
She congratulated the writers and hope the books benefit the students at large. On the occasion Principal Secretary to Governor Santosh Kumar Shathpati, Educational Advisor Anand Bhusan, Special work officer Rajeev Kumar Sinha, RPP Singh from Kolhan University, Gurpreet Singh, Vice-chancellor of Vinoba-Bhave Univeristy and others were present.
