Governor lauds Aadi Mahotsav celebrations in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 11: Governor C.P  Radhakrishnan today addressed the ‘Aadi Mahotsav,’ a vibrant festival celebrating tribal entrepreneurship, crafts, culture, cuisine, and commerce at Gopal Maidan.
Emphasizing its significance, he stated that the festival transcends regional boundaries, reflecting the diverse and rich heritage of our nation.
Radhakrishnan highlighted the integral role of tribal communities in Indian civilization since ancient times. He praised the inspiring history and traditions of these communities, noting their global impact.
Acknowledging Jharkhand as the land of heroes, the Governor commemorated personalities like Lord Birsa Munda, a revered figure in the state. He shared that the Honorable Prime Minister designated Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary as ‘Tribal Pride Day’ nationwide, recognizing his contributions as a social reformer and visionary freedom fighter against British atrocities.
Radhakrishnan commended the vibrant arts of the tribal community, expressing appreciation for their products. He reiterated the Prime Minister’s ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, encouraging support for local products. He noted that during his visits to all 24 districts, He observed closely the skills of the people, emphasizing the hardworking nature of tribal women actively participating in self-help groups, working towards self-reliance.
