After the inauguration ceremony, the Governor held a meeting with the MLAs of Kolhan, members of senators and syndicates and students and government officials at the Senate Hall.
The vice-chancellor Dr R PP Singh welcomed all the dignitaries at the Senate Hall and explained them how the university could develop within a time span of just seven years.

Addressing a huge gathering in the Senate Hall, Chancellor Drapudi Murmu said that the education only can illuminate the path of progress.
The Kolhan is tribal dominated area and the tribal students in large number get education here. The university teachers must make sincere effort to make encompassing development of the students. The people say that Jharkhand is rich but the poor people live there.
This notion should be proved wrong that Jharkahnd students are far better than the students of other states students.
The Chancellor asserted that in the phase of globalism everyone should make their children well prepared so that they get job anywhere in the world and government is ready to extend all possible help in this regard.
She added that the teachers must inculcate the sense of morality among the students then only can we build a good society. The Governor also mentioned that in sports, Jharkhnad has tremendous potentialities like many African countries. The students from the region have bagged many prizes in the national and international levels, she said, adding that the students also must help the people of the society.
Regarding the Swachhata Abhiyan, the Governor said, “We clean not only our environment and house, but also purify ourselves mentally and only then the Pradhan Mantri Swachhata Mission will be successful.”
Chancellor Murmu’s speech heralded a new phase of innovation in Kolhan University. The Governor also presented the meritorious students of the Kolhan University with gold medals. Students who performed brilliantly in recent inter-university sports meet held in Tejpur in Assam and Punjab were also honored.
The Kolhan Commissioner said that the end of the education is to create moralists. The conference was concluded by pro vice-chancellor Dr Shukla Mahanty.
