Governor faints during I-Day function in Dumka

Dumka: Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed Friday fainted while delivering his Independence Day speech at Dumka, the state’s second capital.

Ahmad was taken from the venue to the Sadar hospital. He was discharged after a while.

A doctor said the governor was being treated for vertigo and had forgotten to take his medicines. Ahmed’s speech was completed by Santhal Pargana Commissioner Ehteshamul Haque.

Earlier in the day, the governor hoisted the national flag at Police Lines, Dumka, and inspected a parade. He appealed to the people of the state to protect the national freedom and contribute towards the development of the country and the state. He said the lives of the great people were an inspiration for the people.

Many other bureaucrats were present on the occasion.
