Governor directs JPSC to fill vacancies in BAU

Ranchi, July 27: Reviewing the administrative and educational development of Birsa Agriculture University (BAU) at Raj Bhawan, Governor Draupadi Murmu today directed Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) to issue advertisement for appointment of professors against the demands made by the university in a week and fill in the posts in the interest of the students.

Principal Secretary to the Governor S.K. Satpathi, Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal, VC of BAU P. Kaushal, JPSC Secretary Jagjit Singh, Special Executive officer (judicial) and other officers were present at the meeting.

The governor observed that BAU should speed up the work of affiliated colleges. “The remaining fund will be provided by the government soon. Quality should be maintained in construction of college building. As they are accountable for its construction, they should monitor it regularly,” she said.

The Agriculture Secretary said that approval had been given for the posts in the university.

On this occasion, the university was told to pay the dues of 773 workers. They will be provided Rs. 3.5 crore soon. The VC was also told to submit a report regarding the requirement of daily wages workers.
