Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Governor CP Radhakrishnan urged the Jharkhand government to establish a dedicated Public Service Commission exclusively for University appointments in the state. The Governor expressed this need during a media interaction in Bistupur on Tuesday on the side-lines of the CII annual session in which he was the chief guest. He said that he had already communicated his request to the state government through a formal letter. CP Radhakrishnan highlighted the importance of such a Commission for overseeing appointments in Jharkhand’s universities.

Governor Radhakrishnan underscored the active role played by Raj Bhavan in monitoring all universities closely, including the rigorous scrutiny of academic calendars and efforts to regularize delayed sessions. “The objective is to foster a student-friendly environment in the higher education sector of Jharkhand,” he stated. The Governor emphasized Raj Bhavan’s commitment to ensuring the establishment of a technical college in every district, aiming to make technical education more accessible to local students.

He also assured that the vacant positions of Vice Chancellors in universities would be filled within the next month for which efforts were in progress. He mentioned that similar steps would be taken to address vacancies in other key positions within the universities. These measures reflected the administration’s dedication to enhancing the educational landscape and administrative efficiency within Jharkhand’s higher education institutions.
