Governor appeals for unity on Unity Day

Ranchi, Oct. 31: Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu led a gathering of citizens during a mass oath taking ceremony held today at the Morabadi ground to take a pledge for the unity and integrity of the nation.

The ceremony was held to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel celebrated as National Unity Day.

Addressing the gathering, the governor said everyone should take inspiration from the life and sacrifices made by the �Iron Man�.

She said the people of the country should keep themselves united and live with social harmony.

Prior to her address, the governor paid homage to Sardar Patel by garlanding his portrait.

Among others present on the occasion included the Urban Development Minister CP Singh, MP Ramtahal Choudhary, MLA Jeetu Charan Ram, Mayor of Ranchi Asha Lakra, Secretary to the CM cum Secretary of the Information and Technology Department Sunil Barnwal.
