Ranchi: Chief Secretary, Sudhir Tripathi has said that the government is trying to give maximum benefits of schemes to Tana Bhagats. Tana Bhagat should also take responsibility for this. The Chief Secretary was presiding over a review meeting of Tana Bhagat Development Authority in the secretariat on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting of the Tana Bhagat Development Authority, held earlier in the chairmanship of the Chief Minister was also reviewed. The Chief Secretary clarified that the Tana Bhagat will be provided power connections.
On the issue of transfer of land held by Tana Bhagat during the review, Secretary of Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms Department, KK Son said that the cases of dismissal are being settled.
A total of 3038 Tana Bhagat families have been identified in eight districts of the state. If there is any family left in it, then members of Tana Bhagat Development Authority make available the list, so that they can be added. The Secretary said that the decision of exemption of Tana Bhagat from taxation is also being implemented.
During the review, Tana Bhagats were informed that under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme they are in the process of giving benefits based on the list of social, economic census. Those who are not included in this list will also be given benefit of further accommodation by adding them to the list.
It was informed in the meeting that arrangements for construction of ponds and wells have been made for irrigation up to five acres to farmers. At the same time, the children of Tana Bhagat will also be admitted for certificate course in police sciences in Jharkhand Rashtriya Shakti University after the tenth boards.
The Registrar of the University present at the meeting was asked to give details of the expenses incurred in it. It was told that one acre land has been identified for the construction of guest house of Tana Bhagat under Revenue Department in Ranchi and construction will be started soon. It was informed that on August 30, the state level conference of Tana Bhagats will be organized in Bedo as a state function and for this, necessary action will be taken by the tourism department.
Secretary of Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, Puji Singhal said that Tana Bhagats will be provided amount to buy four cows at a cost of 55 thousand per cow, so that they can buy cow according to their choice.
In the meeting, Nominated Representative of Tana Bhagat, former MLA Ganga Tana Bhagat demanded for the admission of Tana Bhagat children on priority basis in the three residential schools for Tana Bhagats. On this, the Chief Secretary assured him that the systematic action will be taken.
The idea of making a memorial for martyr Tana Bhagats near Gumla jail was assured. In 1972, Tana Bhagat was given the confidence of interference on government land as well. The Chief Secretary said that proper action will be taken after studying all the suggestions of Tana Bhagat. In the meeting, Power Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Welfare Secretary Himani Pandey and officers of other departments were present.
