Government to open generic drug stores in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur : The work done by our government in one year is better than that by the UPA government in 10 years said Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar on Wednesday.

He also pointed out that a year old NDA government worked more than the UPA government in the department of foreign relations too. Hailing the government for improving foreign relations, the PM said only the NDA government is capable of developing good ties.

The Minister hailed the Prime Minister’s efforts towards cooperative federalism and setting in motion a strategy for inclusive development, and hoped it will succeed in fulfilling promises made to the people.

He said the party was unanimous in appreciating Modi’s leadership and hoped government will succeed in fulfilling the promises made.

Kumar, who was here to take part in �Jan Kalyan Parv� to mark one year of the Narendra Modi government, told reporters, while addressing a press meet at local circuit house that the Union Government will shortly sign an agreement with the State Government with regard to opening such stores.

The Union Government will also issue Rs 2.5 lakhs per centre for promoting generic drugs in Jharkhand. Addressing the queries of the reporters, Kumar said that the Government wants to promote industries in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister Raghubar Das has been invited to attend a meeting with the Union Ministers as part of the Jharkhand Summit.

In fact, India will be an export-focussed country from the current import-oriented one in the urea sector, Kumar, who was here to take part in Jan Kalyan Parv to mark one year of the Narendra Modi government.

The minister said the Prime Minister has taken initiatives to reopen all closed urea and fertiliser plants in the country, including those in Sindri ( Jharkhand) and Barauni ( Bihar).

“We have a target to produce 70 lakh metric tonnes of urea in the country and taken steps to open plants in Assam, Telangana, Odisha and other parts of the country,” he added.

According to the new urea policy, the government has decided that there will be no urea price hike for the next four years.

An additional 20 lakh tonnes will be added following the revival of Sindri plant, the Minister said, adding that the current urea production stands at 2.25 lakh metric tonnes. On top of that, he said, the reopening of the Sindri plant would generate 3,500 jobs.

Ananth also said the government has decided to add 200 million tonnes of steel production in the next 10 years to the current output of 100 million tonnes.

He said people gave a mandate for corruption-free and responsive governance that would help them meet their aspirations through rapid economic development.

Kumar also said that the country will become self-reliant in urea and fertiliser in the next four years and is aiming to become the steel hub of the world.

Highlighting achievements of the Government, the minister said the Prime Minister has taken initiatives to reopen all closed urea and fertiliser plants in the country, including Sindri ( Jharkhand) and Barauni ( Bihar).

“We want to ensure progress and development in every area. We have set a target to produce 70 lakh metric tonnes of urea in the country. We are also taking steps to open plants in Assam, Telangana, Odisha and other parts of the country,” he added.
