Government summons fresh report from Tata Steel and DC

Jamshedpur, Feb 6: To review the irregularities in the sublease case a meeting was called in at Ranchi on Thursday, Feb 6 which was headed by Principal Secretary of Land reforms and revenue department, JB Tubid along with the presence of DC of East Singhbhum Dr. Amitabh Kaushal, Kolhan Commissioner Alok Goyal and others.

The meeting concluded without any result but JB Tubid advised DC Amitabh Kaushal to recollect information from the District Administration and Tata Steel and submit it.

Tubid further said that soon after the reports are submitted a meeting will be held and decision will be taken in the next meet.

It may be noted that more than 30 Tata sublease areas in Jamshedpur where multi-crore projects stopped last September 2012 after a clamp order by the former government.

Since 2006 to 2011, 59 parties had been granted Tata sublease by district administration after a nod from Appropriate Machinery Committee, a government-sponsored panel that decides on the allotment of Tata sublease land.

Most had taken land to set up malls, market-cum-office complexes, hotels, parking lots, technical institutions and small industries.
