Jamshedpur, Oct 4: Sunny Sanghi, general secretary of Agrawal Yuva Manch Jamshedpur, has demanded that the state government should lift the ban on Bhog (consecrated food) distribution among devotees during Nav Ratri and Durga Puja festival. People wait for a whole year to get the Mother’s Bhog including women who observe fast during Navratri and take Prasada or Bhog on Navami day to break their fast.
Sunny contended, “Commercial establishments including hotels, restaurants and other eateries have been allowed to commence business then why has the government banned Bhog distribution during Durga Puja? Devotees wait for 12 long months for Durga Puja and the Mother’s Bhog is taken as blessings. All COVID-19 protocols can very well be put in place and Bhog distributed by the various puja committees. Depriving devotees of Bhog will hurt sentiments and the state government would do well to withdraw the ban on Bhog distribution.”
