Ranchi: State BJP president today took a dig at the state government by alleging that the law and order machinery of the state had totally collapsed. He also accused the government of deliberately failing to trace the former agriculture minister Yogendra Sao in the case of his alleged links with Naxalites.

Blaming the government for the disappearance of the former minister, the BJP president said, The government accepted the resignation of Yogendra Sao after his name surfaced during the interrogation of Rajkumar Gupta, the kingpin of Jharkhand Tigers Group. But unfortunately, the minister has not been arrested despite the issuance of an arrest warrant against him by the court. This speaks volumes about the governments intentions and style of functioning.

Rai said the government was trying to save Sao by entrusting the CID with the task of probing into the allegations of Naxalite links against the former minister. He said the case was transferred from police to CID which indicated that the government was planning to save its nose in the case and at the same time silent its critics by ordering a CID probe as an eyewash.

The BJP president demanded removal of police and forest officials who were reportedly found to have links with Ranjeet Kohli alias Raqibul Hasan, the prime accused of the Tara Shahdeo case of torture and forced conversion attempt. He said many government officials under the scanner in the case were still holding office on posts of responsibility. Such officials should be immediately removed and a CBI probe should be ordered into the case, he said.

Condemning the recent killing of trader Pawan Agrawal, Rai said it was a daring incident. He demanded speedy arresting of the killers.

The BJP leader lambasted the government for handing the affairs of Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited (TVNL) in the hands of an independent MLA who had removed the company MD GM Tripathy and given the charge of the MD office to a junior GM rank official. He said the minister was awarding tenders to contractors of his choice.

Meanwhile, the BJP president has nominated state vice president Dr Suryamani Singh and state spokesperson Prem Mittal for monitoring relief campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir flood victims.

He further said that the birth anniversary of Pundit Deendayal Upadhyaya would be observed on 25th September in all district offices of BJP in the state.
