Government empowering traditional artisans: Smriti Irani

Ranchi: Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday said that the Union government had launched �Bunkar Samwardhan Sahayata Yojna� to aid weavers with support and subsidies.

She said the government wanted to empower the traditional weavers and other artisans with such projects in a dedicated manner. She was speaking at the Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors� Summit in the capital.

Irani said the state had huge potential to grow and create great employment opportunities for the local populace.

She said the BJP-led government, both at the Centre as well as in Jharkhand, were doing their best to make the poor people richer through well laid down plans.
