Jamshedpur: Unidentified armed criminals looted goods worth Rs 25 lakh from the staff of Mica Mould Company under Sundernagar police station area in the wee hours of Saturday.
Sources said the incident transpired early in the morning when the company management informed Sundernagar police station officials about the armed robbery.
The alleged victims of the crime said they were taken hostage by armed strangers at gunpoint. The criminals took away copper and brass materials kept on the company premises. When the staff tried to put up resistance, they were beaten up and threatened of dire consequences, sources said.
An FIR was lodged against unidentified persons in connection with the incident. Police officials said they were trying to get details about the appearance of the criminals in order to trace them.
They said a search was being conducted in Sundernagar and adjoining police station areas for the robbers.
Company sources said the company supplied its products to the railway department.
