Goldsmiths� union demands jewelry hub

Jamshedpur: A meeting of Bangbhashi Swarnakar Samiti was held on Tuesday to discuss various issues faced by the community members. It was decided to approach the state government with the demand for setting up a jewelry hub in Jharkhand on the lines of Gujarat. The outfit members alleged that many branded jewelry manufacturing companies and jewelers were reaping huge profits by availing the services of goldsmiths.

But the goldsmiths are paid meagre amounts in return. Among those present at the meeting included Indubhushan Dey, Mintu Sarkar, Santu Rai, Kartik Rai, Shivendu Sinha, Ashim Choudhary, Pintu Devnath, Amit Dutta, Kamal Singhania and Hitesh Adessara.
