Gita Shloka Competition held in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 8: An All-India Gita Shloka Competition was successfully organized under the aegis of Sai Parivar Jamshedpur at Shri Sainath Devasthanam, Ghorabandha (Telco). The event was conducted in a grand, dignified and disciplined manner, with the primary objective of promoting interest in the eternal teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita among students and various sections of society, while also spreading Indian culture, moral values and life philosophy.

Students aged between 5 and 13 years from different schools across the city participated enthusiastically. The participants recited Gita shlokas with accurate pronunciation, expressive presentation and confidence, earning appreciation from the audience. The entire programme was marked by a spiritually enriching and value-oriented atmosphere.

Social worker and chief guest Purvi Ghosh, in her address, described the Bhagavad Gita as a timeless guide for human life that inspires right action, duty and self-development. She emphasized that such competitions play a vital role in connecting the younger generation with India’s rich cultural heritage.

The judging panel from the Gita Parivar, comprising Renu Bala Mishra and Venkat Ram Sharma, evaluated the participants on the basis of accuracy, expression and memorization.

During the valedictory function, winners were honoured with cash prizes, mementos and certificates under the Late Umeshwar Prasad Sinha and Late Sakal Dev Narayan Memorial Awards. All participants received medals and participation certificates.

In the junior category, Sai Sparsh Kaimi secured first place, followed by Ipil Murmu and Mitrajit Chakraborty. In the senior category, Rhythm Bhardwaj won first prize, while Anjali Kumari and Sneha Dwivedi secured second and third positions respectively. Sangamitra Basu Pal and Anshu Kumari were honoured with the “Guru Samman.”
