Jamshedpur, Nov 20 : Three criminals involved in a firing incident aimed at killing a man in Parsudih have been arrested by police.

The incident, which took place on November 14 in Gadiwan Patti, Kitadih, was a planned attack on Javed Khan, allegedly orchestrated by his wife, Hena, with the help of her paramour linked to the Ledha gang.

According to police, Javed Khan and his wife had a domestic dispute, after which Hena contacted members of the Ledha gang to eliminate him.

The assailants opened fire with the intention to kill Javed, creating panic in the locality.

Addressing a press conference at the SSP office on Thursday, City SP Kumar Shivashish said that police had been continuously tracking the accused.

On Wednesday, they received a tip-off that the shooters—Bittu, Shahbaz alias Bhondu, and Rahul Kumar—were planning another attack on Javed at Kharsmahal Murum Maidan.

Acting swiftly, a special raid team was formed under senior officers, leading to the arrest of the trio from the spot, while their accomplices managed to flee.

The arrested accused have been identified as Bittu (22), Shahbaz alias Bhondu (19), and Rahul Kumar (26). Police also seized two 7.65 mm pistols, two magazines, and two mobile phones during the operation. Shahbaz, police said, has a criminal history and is previously implicated in three cases of firing and assault under the Bistupur Police Station.

Following the arrests, a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act has been lodged at Parsudih Police Station, and the three accused have been sent to judicial custody.

Police teams are continuing efforts to trace the absconding accused, including Hena.
