Jamshedpur: A girl of Burmamines has complained to police against her paramour for allegedly exploiting her sexually in the name of marriage for seven years.
She said the youth, also a resident of Burmamines, had refused to marry her despite having promised to tie the knot with her.
She said the family members of the youth had demanded Rs 2.5 lakh in dowry for allowing her marriage with him.
When the girl�s family refused to pay, the youth fled and never turned up to marry the girl, she told SP (city) Kartik S on Monday. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.
