Ghatshila, Jan 7: Creative Art Division (Ghatsila) and Take 5 Communications (Kolkata) came together yet again to bring the 12th edition of VISION, the Annual Short Film Festival of Ghatsila. VISION 2024 happened virtually on December 29 with a repeat show on December 30.

SHAHAJJO (Bengali) by Dhananjoy Mondal, I CAN FLY (Hindi) by Amit Kumar, APNA TIME KAB AYEGA (Bengali) by Abhishek Ganguli, MUJHE LAASH CHAHIYE (Hindi) by Indranil Hazra and JAI HIND (Bengali) by Indrajit Ghosh were the films that were screened in this edition of the Film Festival. The films were thought provoking and each of them tried to tackle specific social issues.

There has been a significant viewership for VISION over the years both in its physical editions as well as in its virtual formats and this positive vibe has resulted in the continuity of the Film Festival for 12 years now.

“It has been tough for us to do this Film Festival in a small town like Ghatsila as there is no sponsorship support in this regard. But still, battling against all odds, we have been able to do it annually and we have completed12 years which is some kind of an achievement. We are thankful to our viewers who have given their unconditional support year after year. We would try and continue with our creative endeavour and hopefully come back to our original physical version,” said Debraj Mukherjee and Tathagata Bhattacherjee, the men behind the effort.
