Ghatshila station to witness comprehensive development: Jamshedpur MP

Jamshedpur, Aug 6: Jamshedpur MP, Bidyut Baran Mahato, graced the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ghatshila Railway Station as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on Sunday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country via video conferencing. 20 stations across Jharkhand are part of the scheme.  The program witnessed the presence of Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren.

The event was marked by various cultural programs, specially organized by school students within the premises of Ghatshila railway station. In recognition of their talents, the students were rewarded during the occasion.

MP Mahato, emphasized that the Railways is making continuous efforts under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to enhance railway connectivity for the common man and introduce state-of-the-art facilities at stations across the country.

He mentioned that there will be comprehensive development of Ghatshila station, ensuring that passengers have access to all essential facilities.

The scheme emphasizes long-term planning for enhancing passenger facilities, including improved access, waiting halls, toilets, lift/escalator installation, cleanliness, and free Wi-Fi services.

Additionally, the scheme incorporates the concept of One Station One Product, providing a better passenger information system, executive lounge, designated space for business meetings, and aesthetic landscaping, tailored to meet the unique requirements of each station.

MLA Ramdas Soren also addressed the gathering during the function, expressing his support for the development initiative. Notable attendees included former MLA Laxman Tudu, Dr Sunita Devdoot Soren, Dinesh Sao, railway officials, and villagers.

Ghatshila station, chosen under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, is set to be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, catering to the needs of passengers and elevating the overall travel experience for all.
