Jamshedpur: To ensure cent percent voter participation and inclusive voting in the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly by-election 2025, a meeting regarding postal ballot voting was held at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Election Officer Karna Satyarthi.

During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India regarding the postal ballot process. The District Election Officer directed all heads of departments categorized under essential services to submit the list of officers and employees registered as voters in the Ghatshila Assembly constituency to the Postal Ballot Cell by October 14.

Satyarthi emphasized that every vote holds great value and assured that no voter engaged in essential duties will be deprived of their right to vote.

Departments under the Essential Services category include Electricity Service, BSNL, Railways, Postal Service, Doordarshan, Prasar Bharati, Milk Service, Health Service, Food Service, Air Service, National Highway Service, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, and media personnel.

Based on the lists received, officers and employees who will be on duty on polling day and may not be able to visit polling stations will be facilitated to cast their votes through postal ballots. The Returning Officer will issue Form 12D, which must be duly filled out and submitted to the Postal Ballot Cell for further processing.

The District Election Officer reiterated that necessary arrangements are being made to ensure free, fair, and inclusive voting during the by-election.
