Gang of thieves decamp valuables from three houses in Baghbera

Jamshedpur : A gang of thieves decamped with valuables and cash from three houses in separate localities under Baghbera police station area.

The thieves broke in two houses at a colony at Ghaghidih and broke open the key of a house door at Gandhinagar in Baghbera.

Subroto Modok, an employee of a private company, had gone to Bangalore on official work since the past one month, leaving his family at his native place in Mednapore.

Another victim of theft Pradeep Kumar Dey discovered cash kept in the Puja Room was missing. Later when he came out of his house for further inspection, he found that the entrance grill of the neighbour’s duplex was also open. Soon he discovered that there was a big theft in the neighbour’s house.

Dey, who works in Tinplate Company, had subsequently reported the matter to the Bagbera police station, leading a team of officials, led by officer-in-charge Shailendra Kumar to inspect the scene of theft.

Dey said he was not aware as to how much money or valuables have been stolen from the Modak’s house, but he thought it proper to lodge an FIR in connection with the theft taken place at his neighbour’s house.

At another incident of theft, the miscreants decamped with gold and cash from a house located at Gandhinagar in Baghbera.

The house owner, Koleswar Sharma was out to attend a marriage ceremony by keeping his house under lock when he returned home he found the door lock broken and valuables, including gold ornaments, LCD and camera worth over Rs 1 lakh missing from the house.

Officer-in-charge, Baghbera police station, Shailendra Kumar confirmed that the incidents of theft have gone up in recent days.
