Jamshedpur, May 9: Jamshedpur Police led by Superintendent of Police (City) Chandan Jha busted a gambling den and arrested about 10 persons from Yarana Hotel and Restaurant in Mango Bus Stand under Sitaramdera Police Station on Saturday evening.
According to police sources, ten persons were arrested from a room of the restaurant recovering about Rs 4 lakh.
Four persons were caught trying to escape at Bhuiyandih under Sitaramdera police station. According to SP Jha, the raids, which were conducted on a tip-off, would continue tonight.
“We have nabbed nabbed 10 persons red-handed while they were engaged in the gambling activity; special teams have been made in each of the police stations to execute the raid which was allegedly operated.
We raided suspected places after getting information about unauthorised gambling dens”. The raid was conducted late in the evening and police have seized playing cards and other material used in the activity.
