Jamshedpur, March 30: The College of Nursing at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) celebrated the 75th Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the academic session 2025-2026 today, marking a significant milestone in the history of nursing education. The event was held at the College of Nursing Auditorium and witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Ruchi Narendran and Guest of Honor D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional Lamp Lighting and Pledge-taking, symbolizing the journey of nursing students toward professionalism and selfless service. Dr. Vinita Singh, General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel, also graced the occasion with her presence, highlighting the importance of nursing in healthcare and applauding the students for their commitment.

The Lamp Lighting Ceremony has always been a tradition to honour Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, and symbolizes the light of knowledge and compassion that nursing professionals bring to the world. It marks the beginning of a nurse’s journey to heal, serve, and contribute to the well-being of society.
