Free operations at Brahmananda Hospital on founder�s anniversary

Jamshedpur : Several philanthropic activities have been lined up for the 87th birth anniversary celebration of Srimad Brahmanand Shastri, the former head priest of Beldih Kalibari, who also founded the Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital ( BNMH) in Tamolia, on October 25.

The hospital will conduct 10 free angiography while Purnima Netralaya, a eye-hospital also located in the same campus of BNMH at Tamolia will conduct 21 free phaco surgeries.

Addressing a press conference at the hospital in Tamolia, Dr Pervez Alam, a leading heart surgeon of BNMH and Monu Bhattacharjee, managing trustee of Brahmananda Sewa Sadan said that the patients who would undergo angiography and phaco surgery operations have been selected.

“We want to celebrate the anniversary in a unique way. This is the reason we decided to conduct free operations. We are carrying out free surgeries for a social cause on the occasion of the birth anniversary celebration of the spiritual leader. The patients would be benefitted ,” said Bhattacharjee.

Dr Pervez Alam said the patients who will undergo angiography and phaco surgery operations are from different areas of the twin districts of East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.

The two-day birth anniversary celebration christened- Spandan Syandane-2016, is an annual event which marks the birth anniversary of Srimad Brahmanand Shastri, who died in 2007. The first day of the celebration would see various contests including an essay writing, and drawing.

Bhattacharjee went on to inform that the two-day celebrations would kick off on October 24 with a flag hoisting ceremony at Brahmolokdham in Kadma’s Air Base Colony. A blood donation camp would also be organised on the first day of the celebration at Brahmolokdham which is expected to witness a huge turnout of donors.
