Free OPD consultation and cataract surgery at Brahmaloka dham today

Jamshedpur: A blood donation camp was organized at Brahmaloka in Uliyan, Kadma, on Monday on the first day of the two day long birth anniversary celebrations of Jagat Guru Brahmananda.

A total of 68 units of blood were collected at the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar who lit a ceremonial lamp on the occasion. Earlier, Monu Bindu Bhattacharya, deputy chairman of Bharatiya Yoga Vashistha Brahmananda Sangh hoisted a flag at 7 am to inaugurate the birth anniversary programme.

Guru Mata of Brahmaloka Maa Purnima Devi was also present during the flag hoisting and blood donation camp. A large number of devotees from Kolkata, Cuttack, Kharagpur and Varanasi arrived in the city to participate in the event.

Various competitive events including kalash painting, mehandi design making, sit and draw, essay writing and drama competitions were held on the occasion. Bhog was distributed in the afternoon. Artists from Kolkata presented a cultural programme in the evening. The programme was conducted by Monu Bindu Bhattacharya.

Bhattacharya said the second day programme will start with Mangal Aarti at 6 am. Free OPD consultation facility will be provided to patients at the Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital and Purnima Netralaya Hospital, he said, adding that 21 patients will undergo free operation for cataract tomorrow.

A Shobha Yatra will be taken out from Voltas Building to Gopal Maidan roundabout. All programmes will take place at Brahmalokam, he said.
