Jamshedpur: Free LPG connections would be given to poor families in all the blocks of East Singhbhum on 14th July under the extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. A target of reaching out to 50,000 beneficiaries has been set for the day by the district administration.
East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar directed the district officials to conduct the campaign like a fair. He said the beneficiary families should be given free LPG connection under the Ujjwala scheme on submission of birth certificate of any one member of the family. The beneficiaries of Antyodaya, PM Awas, forest lease and other schemes would also be given free gas connection, he said.
In this connection, the DC reviewed the implementation of the extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan at the Jamshedpur Collectorate auditorium today. He directed the district project manager to organize camps to inform people about Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana. He also directed the officials to open bank accounts of beneficiaries and provide them LED bulbs.
