Jamshedpur/Chaibasa, Dec 11: Kidney patients in West Singhbhum district will soon benefit from a much-needed service – free dialysis. The initiative, spearheaded by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sushant Kumar Majhi, will provide dialysis at no cost to patients at Sadar Hospital in Chaibasa, starting in the New Year.

In collaboration with the Hans Foundation, a health services organization, the hospital has signed an agreement to establish this facility. The dialysis center will be located in the new building under construction within the Sadar Hospital campus. Dr. Majhi shared, “Currently, there is no government dialysis facility in the district. Although an organization was entrusted with the responsibility in 1999 under a PPP model, it failed to deliver proper services. With this new initiative, we are offering basic infrastructure, while Hans Foundation will provide the medical services.”

Ramraj Singh of the Hans Foundation confirmed the initiative, stating, “The dialysis center will provide free services to kidney patients, which will eliminate the need for patients to travel to other cities or private centers.”

This facility will significantly ease the burden on kidney patients, who often face challenges due to the lack of affordable healthcare options in the region.
