Jamshedpur, Mar 21: A young man allegedly duped Mohammad Farhan Rahmani of Noor Masjid, Mango, by posing as a staff member of Vivanta Hotel in Golmuri. The incident occurred on Monday but was reported to the police on Thursday.

According to the complaint, the fraudster contacted Farhan on WhatsApp, claiming to work at the hotel and expressing interest in buying his iPhone 12 Pro Max. When Farhan arrived at the hotel, the suspect offered him tea and took the phone, saying he would show it to his brother in the canteen. However, he never returned.

After waiting for a long time, Farhan filed a complaint at Golmuri police station. Hotel authorities confirmed that the accused was not their employee but had visited the premises for an inquiry.

The police have begun investigating the case following Farhan’s written complaint.
