Ranchi : Eagerly anticipated the first session of the fourth Jharkhand Assembly is going to begin from January 6.
Protem-speaker of the assembly Prof Stephen Marandi would administer the oath of office to the newly elected legislators before the session begins. The assembly secretariat has made necessary preparations and security arrangements for the oath ceremony and the session.
There will be different ambiance in the house this time. Around 51 legislative members who were elected in 2009 and adorned the assembly would no longer be visible this time.
At the same time there would be over two dozens of legislators who will take the oath for the first time. There will be others too who could not won their seats in 2009 and this time but were members of the house earlier.
Today the protem-speaker Prof Stephen Marandi took stock of the preparations made for the new session of the assembly and gave necessary instructions of the secretariat officials to the effect.
On January 6 the assembly session will begin at 11 am. The protem-speaker will administer the oaths to the newly elected legislators on first two days and the assembly president would be elected.
The Governor Syed Ahmed would address the assembly on January 8 and there upon the second supplementary budget for the present financial year would be presented in the assembly.
Vote of thanks on Governor’s address would be passed on January 9 and the supplementary budget would be passed on the floor of the house.
In the meantime tight security arrangements have been put in place for the first assembly session. Check-posts have been put up the roads leading to the assembly and prohibitory orders have also been clamped.
There would be no unauthorized entry in the assembly, the orders stated. Magistrates have been deputed and the house has been brought in elaborate security net.
Separate parking lots have been put up for the vehicles of the officials of the assembly.
