Four of a family, including a kid, hacked to death in Jharkhand’s Chaibasa

Jamshedpur, Oct 2: Panic gripped the local area as four members of a family were hacked to death at a village under the Hatgamharia thana area in West Singhbhum district around Friday midnight.

The gruesome incident took place at the Kendposhi village of the Hatgamharia,  around midnight.

Those killed were a 40-year-old woman, a 50-year-old man, a 26-year-old youth and a 12-year-old boy.

As the news spread panic gripped the villagers. The police recovered all the four bodies on Saturday morning from the house and have started an investigation into the murder having taken about half a dozen suspects in custody.

From the initial probe, it seems that a dispute over a bullock between the victim’s family and the suspects. The brawl led these killings.

West Singhbhum’s superintendent of police, Ajay Linda  rushed to the spot. 

 The police have detained six persons from the Kendposhi village for interrogation.

“It is too early to comment over the incident. Moreover, the villagers are tight lipped over the killings. We are trying to get some clues. We have picked up those people who were seen with the victims for the last time on Friday evening, ” said a police official said.

The official went on to add that from the initial probe it appeared that a bullock was the root of discord between the victims’ family and the assailants.
