Four-lane project in Jamshedpur East to start soon

Jamshedpur: A major infrastructure upgrade is set to transform Jamshedpur East as approval has been granted for the construction of a four-lane road from Bhuiyandih Litti Chowk to Bhilai Pahari (NH-33), along with a four-lane bridge over the Swarnarekha river.

The ambitious project, sanctioned under the 2024-25 11 SBD, carries a total estimated cost of around Rs 39.92 crore.

The project includes a 242-meter-long bridge and a 3.453 km approach road, taking the total stretch to 3.695 km.

Once completed, the new infrastructure will significantly strengthen traffic flow in the region and provide major relief to daily commuters.

To accelerate the execution, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu held a detailed review meeting on Tuesday at her Agrico residential office with Superintendent Engineer-cum-Executive Engineer Deepak Sahay of Jamshedpur Road Division.

Expressing displeasure over the delay, she instructed officials to ensure the immediate commencement of work.

She also discussed the matter with the secretary of the Jharkhand Road Construction Department over the phone, raising several key concerns.

Engineer Deepak Sahay assured the MLA that the project would be formally launched within the next ten days in her presence.

MLA Purnima Sahu said that the completion of this project will provide residents with improved road connectivity and enable smoother movement of heavy vehicles outside the city, easing traffic congestion within Jamshedpur.

She reiterated her commitment to the holistic development of the Jamshedpur East constituency and said she is continuously monitoring every sanctioned project to ensure on-ground implementation.

It is noteworthy that MLA Sahu had strongly raised this project during the previous Assembly session and has been in regular communication with the Road Construction Department to track its progress at every stage.
