Four Jharkhand karatekas bag govt jobs, association thanks CM

Jamshedpur, March 18: The Jharkhand government gave direct appointment to 27 meritorious sportspersons under the sports quota in government jobs. Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed over the appointment letters to the sportspersons at the cabinet auditorium in Ranchi on Wednesday, March 17. Apart from Archery, Taikwando, Handball and Wushu, four karatekas from the state also received appointment letters from the Chief Minister during the event.

Karatekas Aparna Kumari, Devanand Baskey, Seema Kumari Sinha and Bimla Munda have been placed as constables in Jharkhand police.

Jharkhand State Karate Do Association congratulated the karatekas for getting government jobs under sports quota.

L Nageshwar Rao, Hony. Gen Secretary, Jharkhand State Karate Do Association and joint secretary of Karate Association of India (KAI) congratulated the youths and thanked the Chief Minister Hemant Soren for recognizing contribution of the sportspersons.

“Such recognitions will motivate sportspersons to keep doing well. Our association is indebted to the Chief Minister who has been at the forefront in providing platform to the players and recognizing their efforts. Two of the karatekas are from Chaibasa and two other belong to Ranchi. I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the other winners,” said Rao.

Likha Tara, President, Karate Association of India and Rajnish Choudhary, Gen. Secretary, KAI also congratulated the karatekas and expressed gratitude towards Jharkhand government.

It may be noted that these sportsmen/women were selected by the sports department based on their records and medals earned across different competitive events at the national and international level. 40 Sportsman/Woman has been selected for direct Appointment.
