Four Imposters Caught During NIOS Exam at KV Tatanagar

Jamshedpur: The school management of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Tatanagar caught four impostors red-handed during the NIOS On-Demand examination on Thursday. The youths, reportedly minors, were illegally writing exams on behalf of other students at the Kitadih South Central Colony center under Parsudih police jurisdiction.

Real Documents, Different Faces

The school held the 10th-grade Social Science and 12th-grade Chemistry exams on Thursday. During a routine document check, invigilators found that while the admit cards and papers were authentic, the faces of the youths in the exam hall did not match the photos on the documents.

Suspicious of the discrepancy, the school management conducted a rigorous re-verification process. When officials cross-referenced the names of the candidates and their fathers with Aadhaar cards, the details failed to match. Under intense questioning, the four youths confessed that they had personated the actual candidates to take the exam.

Official Statements

Soma Banerjee, the Principal of DBMS Kadma and the designated Observer, confirmed the incident. “When we questioned the candidates strictly due to document discrepancies, they admitted to appearing fraudulently. Our investigation proved their information false. We immediately notified the Bagbera police, who took them into custody,” she stated.

Gopal Krishna, the Bagbera Station House Officer, stated that the police dispatched officers to the school upon receiving reports of malpractice. “We have detained four minor students. Based on a written complaint from the KV Principal, we have registered an FIR under the relevant sections. We will produce the accused before the competent court on Friday,” he said.

Aftermath and Security

Following the principal’s formal statement, the Bagbera police initiated legal proceedings. The authorities have now tightened security and verification standards at the examination center to prevent future fraud.
