Four Detained for Threatening Suicide During PM’s Jharkhand Visit Over Sarna Code Recognition

Ranchi, Nov 14: As anticipation builds for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jharkhand this evening, the Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan activists have created a stir by demanding the recognition of the Sarna religious code for tribals. In a drastic move, four campaigners, associated with the Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan, issued a threat, asserting that if PM Modi fails to announce the recognition of the Sarna Code during his visit, they would go to Lord Birsa Munda’s village, Ulihatu, and commit suicide.

In a preventive measure, the police have swiftly taken all four individuals into custody prior to PM Modi’s arrival in Jharkhand. The detainees include Chandra Mohan Mardi, Prithvi Murmu, Vikram Hembram, and Kanhuram Tudu. Kanhu Ram Tudu hails from the Sonuva block in West Singhbhum district, while Vikram Hembram and Prithvi Murmu are residents of Baghbeda Jata Jhopri in East Singhbhum. Chandramohan Mardi resides in Petwarwar in Bokaro.
