Jamshedpur: City police here on Friday arrested four persons in connection with the murder of a 58 year old man, Jawahar Lal, resident of Uliyan under Kadma PS.
Police recovered four vehicles including a motorcycle and an ambulance used in the crime besides recovering the body of the deceased from Chaibasa (West Singhbhum).
Those arrested were identified as Vijay Barua, Chhotu Yadav, Sadashiv Patro and Deen Bandhu Besra. Cops also identified four associates of the accused persons as Sonu Singh, Amar, Guddu and Mota Bhaiyya, all absconding.
SSP Jamshedpur Anup Birtharey said the accused persons had taken the deceased away from his house on 18th March last and later killed him in Chaibasa over a dispute involving payment of money in gambling. The accused persons had demanded Rs 16 lakh from Sandhya Devi, wife of the deceased. An FIR was lodged in this connection by Sandhya Devi with the Kadma police station.
Birtharey said the police are looking for the absconding accused on the basis of information furnished by the arrested accused.
