Founder’s Day: Noel Tata and Chandrasekaran to Visit Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Steel City is geared up to celebrate the 187th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata on March 3. This year, Jubilee Park will feature spectacular decorations.

Chairman of Tata Trusts, Noel Tata, and Chairman of Tata Sons, N. Chandrasekaran, will arrive in Jamshedpur on March 2. Their visit marks a historic moment as they join citizens to honour the legacy of the visionary founder.

On March 3, the main homage ceremony will take place at the Tata Steel Works and Postal Park. Both Tata and Chandrasekaran will lead the tributes.

Inauguration of Illumination

Chairman N. Chandrasekaran will officially inaugurate the lighting at Jubilee Park on the evening of March 2. For the first time, the park will showcase theme lighting. These smart systems will change colours and patterns in real-time, creating a motion-based visual spectacle.

The lighting will be open for public viewing from March 3 to March 6 (excluding March 4). Residents can enter through the Sakchi, CFE, or Nicco Park gates between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

A Floral Tribute to Ratan Tata

A major highlight of this year’s celebration is a massive floral portrait of the late Ratan Tata. This grand artwork is located opposite the statue of the Founder in Jubilee Park.

Key Details of the Portrait:

  • Artist: Vivek Mishra, a talented local artist from Adityapur.
  • Scale: The portrait is 18 feet wide and is truly a massive installation.
  • Material: Over 100,000 fresh flowers were used to decorate the artwork.
  • Effort: It took the artist and his team approximately 12 days to complete this historic project.

Artist Vivek Mishra stated that he created this piece with a deep sense of gratitude and respect. He wanted to offer something unique and historic to the citizens of Jamshedpur this year.

One Vision, One Tata Steel

The theme for 2026 is “One Vision, One Tata Steel.” This theme highlights the unity and shared future of all Tata divisions. Beyond Jubilee Park, at least 12 iconic buildings and 24 traffic islands across the city will also glow with festive lights.
