Foundation of power sub station laid in Potka

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Potka MLA Menka Sardar jointly laid the foundation stone of a 10 MVA power sub station in Bandhdih Sindurgauri village of Hathipinda panchayat in Potka on Saturday. A large number of villagers were present on the occasion.

Addressing the people, the MP said the power sub station would address the power woes of the local residents from several dozen panchayats in and around Rakha Mines. The people of these panchayats had long been demanding a power sub station for uninterrupted power supply. Now they are finally going to get continuous power supply, said the MP.

Mahato said the sub station would supply electricity to a population of one lakh. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 4 crore. The sub station would be dedicated to the people in November next year. It will be constructed over three acres of land along with staff quarters, said the MP.

Among others present on the occasion included Sanjeev Bhakt, Haldhar Das, Sudip Dey, Prashant Rat, SK Srivastava, Vivek Mandal and Nirmal Bhakt.
