Jamshedpur, Jan. 25: Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Varan Mahato and Potka MLA Menka Sardar laid foundation stone for bridge at Chandanpur Village.
The construction cost of the village is estimated at Rs 2.33 crore and the target for completion of the bridge is December 2017. Balaji Enterprises has been given the contract for the construction of the bridge.
Villagers praised the work done by Menka Sardar saying that this new bridge will prove to be a lifeline for the villagers.
The villagers are bound to carry the patients on their shoulder to cross the river even after 68 years of Independence.
Once this bridge is completed people of the region will find it easy to commute specially during the rainy season where they have to cross the river by risking their life.
The distance from Potka block office to Chandanpur village is 25 km through dense forest. The village is surrounded by river from two sides while mountains border it from one end.
On the occasion MLA Menka Sardar also laid foundation for community hall at Pandudih in Sohda panchayat along with four bridge at Manpur in Matkumdih, Aamda in Dumrudih and at Chakdi.
On the occasion MLA representative Vibhisan Sardar, Zila Parishad member Sudipto Dey alias Rana, Heeramuni Murmu along with several party workers were present.
