Jamshedpur, September 7: Nagrik Suvidha Manch, a forum formed by members of many political parties to agitate for solutions of glaring problems of the city, is planning to lodge an FIR against Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Company Limited MD Tarun Daga at Bistupur thana.
Shashi Kumar Mishra, the convener of the forum, said that they will launch a movement for opening the main road of Jubilee Park for the common people.
“As part of this movement we will lodge an FIR on September 10 against Tarun Daga, managing director of Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Company Limited (formerly JUSCO), at Bistupur police station.
“When the general public encroaches on a road, case is registered against them by the district administration and the police administration under section 353, but the common road of Jubilee Park is being encroached and it should also be opened for public. If it is a crime to encroach on a common road, then this rule should also be applicable against TSUISL. We will take a pledge that the agitation will continue till this road is not opened,” said Mishra while speaking to reporters at Nirmal Guest House.
He said that many roads of this city were closed in the name of expansion, every day the number of vehicles in the city is increasing and instead of increasing the number of roads, the TSUISL is only widening it.
“We are not opposed to the expansion of Jubilee Park, we oppose closing of the road and we would lodge an FIR against MD TSUISL,” added Mishra.
Jubilee Park was closed after government order due to Covid restriction. However after the order of state government to open parks, the demand for opening this park has increased.
Recently, after Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy visited Jubilee Park twice, the obligation to show identity card for entry there was abolished. BJP’s Dhanbad organization in-charge Abhay Singh has also intensified his efforts to get the gate of the park opened, however BJP’s city unit president Gunjan Yadav is against this decision. A few days ago, Gunjan Yadav had issued his statement in support of keeping the gate of the park closed.
