Jamshedpur, Jan 15: Sadhan Kumar Roy, former president of Milanee and former Tata Steel officer, passed away at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and family.
Roy served as the president of Milanee from 2013 to 2016, during which the institution celebrated its centenary in 2014 with a grand ceremony on February 4. The event was graced by the presence of Tata Steel’s Managing Director T.V. Narendran and Ruchi Narendran. That same year, Milanee underwent significant renovations and modernization, with Roy securing a grant of Rs 5 lakh from Tata Steel to support the project.
In addition to his contributions to Milanee, Sadhan Kumar Roy held the position of Head of Tata Steel’s Blast Furnace division. Known for his leadership and dedication, he left an indelible mark on both Milanee and Tata Steel before relocating to Kolkata in 2016.
His legacy as a leader who championed modernization and cultural preservation will be fondly remembered by colleagues, friends and the community.
