Former KAI GS Bharat Sharma nabbed for alleged forgery

Jamshedpur, Feb 19: Former general secretary of Karate Association of India and Director of KIO (Karate India Organisation) Bharat Sharma was arrested by Mumbai Police from his New Delhi residence on charges of alleged cheating and forgery on February 14, informed L. Nageshwar Rao, joint secretary of KAI and General Secretary, JSKA.

A case of forgery was registered in MRA Marg Police Station under Mumbai district under section 467/468/471/465/419/420 and u/s 34 of the IPC.

According to Rao, Bharat Sharma misguided and tried to cheat the officials of IOA, Ministry of Sports, Govt. of India, AKF & WKF. Bharat Sharma is also holding the post of President, South Asia Karate Federation.  

Nageshwar Rao further said, this would bring bad name to Karate Association of India and KAI should deal with an iron hand with officials who try to indulge in illegal and unethical behaviour.

All Karatikas of India have requested World Karate Federation (WKF) and Asian Karate Federation (AKF) to sack Bharat Sharma and also not to entertain him in future.
