Jamshedpur, Aug 9: Former Ranji Trophy cricketer, selector and coach Jodh Singh who represented Bihar in Ranji trophy matches and played for East Zone in a match against the West Indies side led by Alvin Kalicharan in the 1978-�79 season and troubled the calypso batsmen with his medium swing deliveries, passed away at his Telco Condominium Apartment residence due to a cardiac attack at 2 am on Sunday, August 9 at the age of 66 years. He was a diabetic and was also being treated for high blood pressure.
Jodh whose nickname was Pappu played for Bihar during the 1970-�80 period acquitting himself well as a lower middle order batsman and an effective new ball bowler. As Jodh passed into history, cricket lovers and cricketers were shocked on hearing of his death.

Besides being a distinguished all-rounder, Jodh Singh served as a selector and coach. He was a selector for the Jharkhand Ranji Trophy team, Under-19 and Under-16 teams. At the time of his death, Jodh Singh was a member of the Sikkim State Cricket Association as an ICA representative. Popular Jharkhand and East Zone batsman Ishank Jaggi is Jodh Singh�s son-in-law. His mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Swarnrekha crematorium in the afternoon.
ICA representative Avinash Kumar, former Ranji cricketer Jitu Patel and other payers condoled Jodh Singh�s sudden demise.
